In addition to this chocolate cake, I made these pumpkin pies to take to my mom’s house on New Year’s Day. I only made one crust so I meant to cut the filling recipe in half because it makes two pies. Well, the phone rang and I didn’t pay attention, so I ended up making the full recipe. Because I didn’t have enough crust, I used the rest of the filling to make pumpkin custard. I also made some cinnamon whipped cream.
I did accidentally stick my finger in the pie while it was coming out of the oven. Oh well.
